Representation of Teachers
TEACHERS
I got given the task to look at the television series 'Teachers'.
In the extract I watched, I realised that teachers are represented in a variation of ways.
For example;
-Starts off with a group of young teachers drinking and smoking in a pub together.
-They were discussing sex and girls.
-They were swearing.
-Talking about wanting to stay young.
-The group of teachers then went off together and broke into somewhere for fun and stole a bust of (Shakespeare?)
-One of the teachers then goes back to the girl he was with's house and gives her the bust of (Shakespeare?)
-He wakes up the next morning with a hangover.
-After discovering that the girl he was with was a Police officer he quickly makes his excuses and leaves in fear that she will find out about what happened the night before.
-We see this character getting to work on a bicycle. He is cycling quickly and recklessly and also he does a few jumps while he's cycling. This is very effective because we can see some of the pupils getting to school by bicycle too. This shows that this character is still like a kid at heart. Also, the music playing in this section has lyrics in it that says 'I wanna be like you'. This could also show that this teacher wants to still be childlike.
