Stereotypes of people with mental illnesses:
The lists above look really useful as a starting point and there are a number of excellent texts here to get into. Misery, Heavenly Creatures, Taxi Driver - all interesting for their violent take. The balance of violent to pity or comedy is striking as well. An Angle at My Table is a brilliant film and worth watching anyway. Also look at Shine - an amazing Australian film about a pianist - a true life story which suggests that mental health can be environmental.
